New Website for Addison Mizner: The school district is in the process of converting from Edline to School Messenger. Our new website is already active and is connected with the district website so everything is at your fingertips. Please go on the district website under schools, look for Addison Mizner and it will take you to the new website. The following is the direct link:
We are still “fine tuning” it, but you will find information on the new school year and more posted over the summer.
Update on New Addison Mizner School: The final decision has been made to rebuild on the same location. We will be at our current location for the FY 19 and FY 20 school years. At that point, we will move to a ‘temporary location” next to Don Estridge Middle School. When we return, we will become a K-8 school. There will only be no more than 100 students in 6th, 100 in 7th and 100 and 8th, adding one grade level per year. Current AMES students will be the first to be given the opportunity to apply for this choice middle school. Only if there were any remaining spots after that, would it open up to other students. Please click on the link below to read an article about the positives of a K-8 school.
Boca Middle School Incoming 6th Grade Boot Camp: A “boot camp” for incoming 6th graders to learn the ropes o navigating through middle school will be held on August 9th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. A BRCMS Boot Camp shirt, lunch, tours, and talk about the school given Student Government. Cost is $25. You must register in advance. Email BocaMiddleSGA@gmail.com to register or ask questions. Contact person is Laura Gonzalez, SGA Advisor.
Marquee Damaged: Many of you have inquired why we don’t have anything on the front Marquee. It was severely damaged during Hurricane Irma, which goes through FEMA for funding. We are awaiting the go ahead for the district to repair it. Once it is fixed, we will update it with information.
Campus Safety: The safety of our school and children is always our first priority. Please be assured the district is providing extra police presence and is already in the process of implementing school safety improvements throughout the district. We now have a police officer on campus throughout the day. The district is working hand in hand with local police agencies and school police to not only update safety protocols as needed, but also provide daily security at all schools.
