Yearbook Sale

A limited quantity of yearbooks will be available for sale the morning of Wednesday, May 30th at 8:30am.  Students will be invited to come to the teacher's lounge by grade level starting with 5th grade.  One yearbook per child may be purchased for $30 cash or check only.  Please fill in your child's name and teacher on the memo line to expedite the process.  Any questions please email yearbook@amespta.com.

Meet the Teacher

Meet the Teacher will be held Friday, August 10th 12:30-1:30pm.  Classroom lists will be posted in designated areas for each grade.  You will be able to purchase school uniforms, join the PTA, buy church parking passes, and sign up for carpool passes in the cafeteria.  

First Day of School

First day of the 2018-2019 school year is Monday, August 13th.

Principal Burke's Weekly Email Blast (5.11.18)

Kindergarten Registration:  If you know of any incoming K families, please share the following registration information with them: 

Registration begins Monday, May 14th.

May 14th –June 7th 8:30-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m.

June 12th –August 2nd: Tuesday 1-4 p.m. and Wednesday 9-12 p.m.

June 26th –July 5th No Registration

Open registration begins Monday, August 6th from 8-12 and 1-3 p.m.

Update on New Addison Mizner School:    The final decision has been made to rebuild on the same location.  We will be at our current location for the FY 19 and FY 20 school years.  At that point, we will move to a ‘temporary location” next to Don Estridge Middle School. When we return, we are currently slated to become a K-8 school.  There will only be approximately 100 students in 6th, 100 in 7th and 100 and 8th, adding one grade level per year.  Current AMES students will be chosen first for this choice middle school.  Please click on the link below to read an article about the positives of a K-8 school.


Teacher Appreciation Week:  Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7th - 11th. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful teachers for their dedication and hard work with the students at Addison Mizner. This staff is exceptional in their ability to guide children, to build and enhance their self-esteem, and to empower them to reach their highest potential. There is nothing more important than making a difference in a child’s life. If you see a teacher, take the time to thank them for their everyday service to our students. 

May is Mental Health Awareness and Trauma Informed Care Month:   May has been designed as the county-wide Mental Health Awareness and Trauma Informed Care Month.  The goal of the campaign is to promote awareness of mental health, educate about reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness, and to encourage action on mental health issues.  May 24th we will acknowledge the month by having a spirit day and having students and staff wear green. 

5th Grade Islands of Adventure Trip:   Monday, May 14th is the end of the year trip for 5th grade students.  Email your child’s teacher for more information. 

Animal Rescue Donations:    We are collecting donations for an animal rescue league.  Please donate:  Towels, dog food (dry or cans), bottled water, toys, treats, leashes/collars, and pet item is welcome (No pillows please).  Bring to the front office.  Thank you for your help. 

Cafeteria Volunteers:  Cafeteria volunteering times are 10-11 or 11-12.  Please remember you MUST have completed the required training to volunteer.  If you are interested in being trained, please email toni.sturm@palmbeachschools.org Once you are trained, you can schedule days and times to volunteer. 

Marquee Damaged:  Many of you have inquired why we don’t have anything on the front Marquee.  It was severely damaged during Hurricane Irma, which goes through FEMA for funding.  We are awaiting the go ahead for the district to repair it.  Once it is fixed, we will update it with information. 

Campus Safety:  The safety of our school and children is always our first priority. Please be assured the district is providing extra police presence and is already in the process of implementing school safety improvements throughout the district.  We now have a police officer on campus throughout the day.  The district is working hand in hand with local police agencies and school police to not only update safety protocols as needed, but also provide daily security at all schools.
