Message from the Principal - Summer Camp

College Gardens Community:

As principal of this terrific school, I am always amazed at the generosity of the community. As principal, I had the opportunity to ride the school bus one morning with some of our students. Several of the students mentioned the desire to go to summer camp this year while in the same breath stated that their parents informed them that they could not afford to send them.

Our community is wonderful in supporting our students but we need your help to make our efforts reach even more students. Your support is crucial to our efforts, we are reaching out to the College Gardens parent community as well as the local business community attempting to get sponsorships to help students have one wonderful week at camp.

If you are able, we would love your donation to help us achieve our goal. You can make a donation to the school, a sponsorship directly to a local camp for one of our students, or you can call me at 301-279-8470 to get a suggestion as to a camp a student wishes to attend.

Just to give you an idea of the cost of summer camps nearby, the costs are below for for 1 week:

Montgomery County:
- Art $250
- Dance $350
- Theater $525

Montgomery College:
- Build it: $250
- App Attack $240

Camp Sonshine $310

Bar-T Ranch $425 Basketball Camp: $285
