We would like to invite everyone to attend Information Night – Updates from MCPS on Elementary and Middle School Magnet Programs. This event is sponsored by the MCCPTA Gifted Child Committee (GCC)Below are the logistics for the event:Date: Monday, April 30, 2018Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pmLocation: Carver Auditorium, MCPS Headquarters 850 Hungerford Drive Rockville, Maryland 20850MCPS staff invited to participate are: Ms. Lori-Christina Webb, MCPS Executive Director to the Chief Academic Officer Ms. Meredith Casper, MCPS Director, Division of Accelerated and Enriched InstructionAmong the topics to be discussed:•Updates on the universal screening of 3rd graders for the Centers for Enriched Studies•Updates on middle school magnets, including this year’s use of universal screening, magnet admissions, and changes to program locations•Information on new expansion classes at local middle schools•Information on role of the Office of School Support and Improvement (OSSI) The final agenda is still under discussion.
