Opportunity to Comment on BOE's Policy FAA, Long-Range Educational Facilities Planning
The Below message is from MCPS:As you may know, the Board of Education is revising Policy FAA, Long-Range Educational Facilities Planning. This policy governs our approach and guidelines for all areas of capital planning, including: facility planning; site selection; boundary assignment; school closure and consolidation; and the planning processes for the Capital Improvements Program (CIP). The Board has taken tentative action on a revised Policy FAA, and is now seeking public comment prior to final action. We are working to share information with community stakeholders about the proposed revisions to Policy FAA, and provide opportunities for discussion and questions as community members consider comment on the policy. We would like to invite you to participate in an open discussion forum to hear a brief presentation summarizing the proposed policy changes, and then have opportunity for questions and discussion. We have scheduled two forums, on Monday, June 11 in the Kennedy HS cafeteria, and Wednesday, June 13 in the Gaithersburg HS Cafeteria. Both will be from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. These forums are open to any interested community member, so please share this invitation with your others who may want to participate in this discussion. Individuals can also provide comment without attending one of the forums. The Board of Education is receiving comments here, which contains additional information about the proposed changes as well as the text of the revised policy.
