Please come join us at our 2nd PTA Meeting of the year! You will get an update on all that's happening in the PTA from our Committee Chairs and an update from Mr. Valentine. Mrs. LoRusso will be sharing a presentation on DASA training, which is training on harassment, bullying, cyberbullying and discrimination in schools: Prevention and Intervention.
We will also be voting on the NYS Resolutions. This is one of your chances to let your voice be heard and advocate on behalf of all children!
Resolutions express official NYS PTA positions. PTA units and councils draw on these positions to shape their support of proposed legislation, policies or regulations and their advocacy in other areas affecting the welfare of children and youth. These resolutions will remain part of NYS PTA’s “Where We Stand” until they become law or are shown to be no longer needed.
To save time during the meeting on October 15th, we will be taking a block vote, which means we will only read those resolutions that people may have questions on. Here is the link to the proposed resolutions. Please read and review them at your leisure before the meeting so that you can make an informed decision when we vote at the meeting.
Please note that our November meeting, we will be voting to amend our bylaws. We are proposing to change our quorom from 25 people to 14 people, which is the allowable minimum required by NYS PTA. This serves as our 30 day required notice of this vote. Please join us at our November PTA meeting on Tuesday, November 12 at 9:15am.
