Frieda B. Author, Renata Bowers, to Visit Ellington Center School on Monday, November 25th

Renata Bowers, author of the national-award-winning Frieda B. series of children’s books, is coming to Center School on November 25th for a day
filled with fun, purpose and inspiration for all students and staff. Through her books, Renata encourages kids of all ages to use their imaginations, and
to believe that – just like the main character, Frieda B. – they, too, are free to be the very important one-of-a-kind story they carry inside. The key, she says, is helping boys and girls grasp their inherent worth – and the worth of others.

“There is little I love more than encouraging the story within children – and helping them to see how important it is to encourage the stories in others,” says Renata. “So often I believe kids don’t know how incredibly and uniquely valuable they are… not just intellectually, but socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically. Every child is a whole and wonderful child in his or her own unique way.”

Bowers’ Frieda B. series received Gold for Best Picture Book Series from the National Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. The books are masterfully illustrated by revered children’s book illustrator Michael Chesworth, best known for his illustrations of the Pippi Longstocking series.
