Every PTA in our district has a Special Education Representative position. The PTA Special Education Representative attends a monthly CAC (Special Education Community Advisory Committee) meeting at the CUSD district office in San Juan Capistrano. This meeting is attended by the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education, Mark Miller, who gives updates to what is going on in our district. This is followed by a speaker sharing about a topic in Special Education. The Special Education Representative brings this information back to the PTA. 1. Email the PTA Special Education Rep, Ann Carroll, and ask to be on the mailing list for Special Education information at anncarroll65@cox.net .
2. Like the Capo CAC facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/CapoCAC?ref=ts&fref=ts This will give you great information and resources, let you know when/what the next CAC meetings will be, and connect with other parents and special education teachers.
3. Attend a CAC meeting. You will learn who’s who is special education, meet other special education parents, and hear some great speakers.

The Special Education CAC Meeting is held once a month at CUSD Office at 33122 Valle Road, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. Meetings are held Sept through May and often are not held in December. The CAC is the Community Advisory Committee that consults directly with the board of supervisors on Special Education matters. It is a volunteer group run by parents who apply and have been voted onto the committee. All Special Education Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the monthly CAC meetings.
