Halloween Parade and Parties
Oct 31, 2019 from 02:50 PM to 03:45 PM

The annual Halloween Parade and Party will take place on Thursday, October 31 at 2:50 pm and class parties will follow at 3:15 pm.

Below is the approximate timeline for the parade and parties:

  • 2:30 pm - Parents who have signed up to help with costumes and set up for the party may go to classrooms to set up and help children get dressed. All other parents should line up outside to watch the parade.

  • 2:50 pm - Parade observers will be asked to leave the classrooms and go outside.

  • 2:55 pm - The parade will begin.

  • 3:15 pm - Classroom parties will begin at conclusion of the parade.

Please read these additional items to note about the event:
  • Please do not send children to school in costumes.

  • Costume accessories with pointy or sharp edges or that simulate weapons will not be allowed in school.  We are requesting that items which may cause harm be left at home.  These include toy swords, guns, knives, etc.

  • The bus loop will be closed to vehicles beginning at 1:45 pm.

  • Parade observers may not stand or block the sidewalk of the parade route.

  • Parents must enter the building at the main office entrance at the conclusion of the parade.  Parents will not be permitted to enter the building until all classes have returned to their rooms.

  • Parents will have organized activities and snacks prepared.  Please be aware of any allergies in the classroom.  Students will clean up and prepare for dismissal following the classroom party.  Please remove and discard any decorations that have been used.

  • Do you not observe Halloween?  Students who are not participating in the parade are welcome to come to the media center during that time. Mrs. Kelly and Ms.Cross will provide board games and table activities, as well as plenty of reading material. When the parade is over, students will have the choice of returning to their classrooms for the parties, or remaining in the media center until dismissal. Please be clear with your child about your family decision on participating in the parade and/or party. Parents should also communicate that plan to the classroom teacher.
