MCPL’s Summer Read & Learn 2021

MCPL’s Summer Read & Learn 2021 – Tails and Tales program:

This year Summer Read & Learn is once again virtual, yet accessible even to those without internet access! Families can do the entire program online, or they can contact their local library to pick up a physical copy of the gameboard if they are unable to participate on the website.

Book Lists are updated for grades K-6 (plus middle & high school, preschool, and babies/toddlers). The great news is that nearly all of the fiction titles are available free for download/streaming through the library website with an MCPL library card—including Picture Books, Beginning Readers, Easy Juvenile Fiction, Juvenile Fiction, and Graphic Novels! Many Non-Fiction titles on the list are available digitally as well. In addition, lots of the titles are available as e-audiobooks. Starting June 1st, you’ll find PDFs of all the updated graded Book Lists on the Kids Page of our website, or follow this link to access them sooner:

If students and/or parents need library cards, they can get Digital Library Cards through the library website. They can use the cards to access:
- E-Books, Audiobooks, E-Magazines, Movies, Hoopla
- Skills Databases such as Udemy and Creativebug
- Language Learning databases, and more

Finally, while MCPL won’t have in-person special events this summer, we will have lots of free, live virtual events: storytimes, book clubs, crafts, and even Magic Shows, Dance and Music events, Puppet Shows, LEGO Master and STEM programs, and other big events. Our offerings continue to expand, so check the Events tab on the website often for updates.
