Vision & Hearing Screenings
6th graders only
As part of the health services provided by the School Health Program, the vision and hearing technicians will be screening 6th grade Don Estridge students. Your child will be able to take advantage of these health screenings in school beginning 10/10/19 and ending on 10/11/19.
Vision and hearing screening programs for school children are intended to help identify those children who have or may potentially have a vision or hearing problem that could interfere with school performance. Upon completion of the screening, you will be notified by letter if there is a need for a more complete examination.
Depending on the age of the child, research indicates from 3 -10% of children experience hearing loss and that 1 in 4 or 25% of children will have a vision problem that requires professional care. Medical experts recommend that every child have at least one eye examination performed by an eye specialist during early childhood. Please contact us at the numbers listed below or call the Clinic at Don Estridge (561) 989-7826 between 8:30 A.M. and 3:30 P.M., during school days, if you have any concerns or questions.
