WatchDOGS Volunteers

The Eakin WatchDOGS program has been suspended for the 2020-2021 school year due to distancing requirements associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.  We hope to resume the program next year!

WatchDOGS (Dads of Great Students) is open to dads, stepdads, uncles, grandfathers, or special friends of Eakin Students. WatchDOGS commit to spending the day at school volunteering in both your child's classroom and other classes throughout the school day. It's a great way to help out your Eakin community and make a positive impact in the lives of your child's classmates.

Sign-up today to express your interest & the WatchDOGS coordinator will contact you.

Regardless of whether you have been in the WatchDOGS, a new free background check is required every year before volunteering. Your background check will need to clear before you can volunteer. The website to sign up for the free background check is: Pencilforschools.com.  Follow these steps:
  1. Scroll down to the bottom right and click on 'volunteer today'
  2. Under the heading 'literacy partner' click 'sign up'
  3. A password prompt will appear- the password is PENCIL1718
  4. You should then be able to enter your information so that a background check may be completed. Please select the purpose of the background check as "WatchDOGS" in the pull down menu.
You can then view the Eakin Watchdog calendar to sign up for a day to volunteer.
