Whether you're new to Nashville or simply weighing the school options available to your family, selecting a place to call "home" can be stressful. At Eakin Elementary, we work hard to ensure that our school is a warm, welcoming environment where all children and families feel connected and nurtured. By providing support, funding, and volunteers, our goal as a PTO is to ensure our teachers and administration have all they need to make Eakin the best school in Nashville.
Eakin is tucked into the vibrant Hillsboro Village neighborhood located in the heart of the city. We have small class sizes to support instruction. The school houses a wonderful library, a well-stocked technology and media center, a full-size gymnasium and much more! In addition to general classroom instruction, all students receive a related arts curriculum that includes art, physical education, music, and social emotional learning through physical education (SELPHY). At Eakin, there are also many options for children and their families when it comes to extracurricular activities. Read more about these opportunities under our Documents/Clubs tab on this website.
The families and staff at Eakin value our diversity and feel it is one of our greatest strengths. Keeping with this value, Eakin is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme School
. Eakin is home to children who speak more than 20 languages and come from more than 30 countries. We are also the designated school for Davidson County's deaf and hard of hearing elementary students. Every grade has 1 classroom which is sign interpreted and all students take American Sign Language (ASL) as their foreign language. We are proud that all students will be learning to communicate with their friends and to value inclusion!
At Eakin, we have a vibrant school community and a commitment to rich academics taught through the inquiry method that is a hallmark of the IB Primary Years Programme. Come see for yourself what makes Eakin unique and why we say "Eakin Gives You the World."We'd be happy to schedule a tour for you. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a time.
A parent from the tour committee will contact you to determine a mutually convenient time to lead you on a tour of our campus and answer your questions. Often members of our faculty and staff are available to greet you.
