Open Committee Positions
We have some open committee positions for the 2019-2020 school year and we need your help to fill them!  We have some "At-Home" opportunities as well as some "In School" opportunities.  Please let us know (fvespto@gmail.com) if you are able to help with any these positions:

In School Opportunities:

Welcome Back Teacher Breakfas
t - Breakfast provided by the PTO to the teachers on their first day back at school, before the students return.  Usually in mid August.

Teacher Appreciation Week - Planning and organizing/helping with various events to celebrate Teacher Appreciation week.  This is typically during the first full week in May.

Monster Mash - This event is put on by the teachers but the PTO organizes a carnival or Spooky Trail for the students to come to during the Monster Mash.  Planning and organizing the carnival or trail as well as finding volunteers to work the event. Food and drinks are also the responsibility of the PTO.

Grandparents Day -  Coordinating fun games for the Grandparents during the assembly, purchasing flowers for the grandparents that came the furthest distance, etc.  Drawing for a door prize. This event occurs in November.

Kickball - Organizing a kickball game with students vs. teachers.  Grand prize will be given out. Organizing food and drinks to be sold.  Takes place in May.

Flower Sales - Plan the items that will be for sale, distribute and collect order forms.  Fill orders when they arrive, plan pick up times, collect money. There is a Fall flower sale and a Spring sale as well.

Spirit Wear - Help create, order and sell new spirit wear attire for the new school year.  A sale will take place and orders will have to be organized and distributed. Money collection will be required as well.  This takes place over the summer and at various events throughout the school year.

Spirit Nights - Plan and coordinating with restaurants and other venues for Spirit Nights.  You will work directly with the vendor and negotiate proceeds that FVES will gain from the night.  Advertising for the event will also be required. This event typically happens several times per year.  This can be done from home. Attendance at the event is a plus but not required.

BINGO Night - Helping plan, coordinate and execute the event.  Finding prizes for games, set up and clean up, etc. This event takes place in March.

Treasure Cards - This is a fundraiser that takes place in the spring and volunteers are needed to hand out prizes and coordinate with the company that plans the cards.  Money will need to be collected as well as unsold cards.

5th Grade Legacy - This is a team of 5th grade parents that will organize fundraising efforts that benefit the 5th grade class.  They have a party at the end of the year and give a gift to the school as they exit.

School Beautification -  Making sure that the school looks it best.  Mostly ordering pine straw two times per year and coordinating volunteers to come out and help as needed.  Things needing to be done will vary year to year but generally it consists of fresh pine straw spreading, planting new flowers in the planters in front of school, painting paw prints in car rider line, painting lines on the basketball court, pressure washing etc.  This is typically done before Open house in August and again in May before Kindergarten Orientation.
