I hope this finds you well. By now you probably know that Marvin Elementary, along with all NC K-12 schools, is closed until at least May 15th. There is a lot to unpack in a situation like this, but we are obviously disappointed. Understanding that this is in the best interest of public health, being away from our students for this length of time isn’t something we like. We are looking forward to being back with you again soon and sharing in the memories we create together.
This letter is meant to offer some support in our educational guidance during this time. In particular, I wanted you to be aware of the resources we have to offer and the support you can expect from our staff. First, I hope you were able to pick up a resource packet from our school on Saturday. These resources are also available here. In addition, the elementary student start-up page can direct you to many online programs that are available to all K-5 students. Here is a link to the start-up page: website.
Our teachers are promoting these resources and offering support through various means over the coming days. In addition, our district is researching how to address the needs of special populations such as EC, 504, and AIG.
As a staff, we will continue to support you and reach out to your students. One of those ways we will be reaching out to you is through our first ever TEACHER PARADE this coming Friday, March 27th starting at 12:30pm. We will be coming to your neighborhood so look for more information soon! If you have any questions, please let us know and we will help in the best way possible.
