Interested in Being a Home Room Parent This Year (Same Heart, Different Beat)?

Our virtual homeroom parents are the classroom’s information hub: so, we need someone who is willing and has time to be the communication leader for the class! For us to build a strong community between parents and the kids, we NEED homeroom parents to create a classroom community themselves as the school/class can’t take on that role as it normally does. Even though we may be distant at times, we should find new ways to come together and we need YOU to make it happen!

The Homeroom Parent Training is on September 16th @ 10:00

*** By signing up, it indicates you are interested in being this teachers homeroom parent. You may sign up for multiple teachers (but will likely only be assigned one). The HRP will be notified no later than September 15th. ***

Homeroom parent responsibilities:

Attend Zoom training on September 16
Class list - share with the class once you receive the list from Kasey. As lists change (potentially each 9 weeks) be ready to reshare with the group.
Communication – THIS IS YOUR PRIMARY ROLE. Please try to create community with your communication, through class text group, a class facebook page or be active on the grade level page, etc. You have two ways to communicate.

You should regularly communicate with the folks on the class list.
If you need to reach the whole class, including families NOT on your list, send the email to the teacher to forward to her list.

Minimal to no in person classroom time this year, at least first semester.
We anticipate the Holiday parties will happen as planned. Since parent volunteers will not likely be attendance, you will coordinate and collect donations for Holidays parties (with instruction and help from your grade level coordinator) and assist the grade level coordinator in the Holiday party prep.
Teacher appreciation collaboration in Spring (if needed depending on PTA fundraising)
Check in periodically on your teachers. Encourage parents in the classroom tocontact the teacher if they are interested in doing workroom type jobs at home. Remember that the workroom will be closed to volunteers, so teachers might have a lot of cutting and creating jobs to be done.
