Health & Wellness GRANTS Awarded!!

Palm Beach County Council of PTA/PTSA Awards Wellness Grants totaling $3,000.00 to 5 local PTA’s!
That makes over $11,000 in the nine years since starting this program. The Programs begin now and will run through May 31st throughout Palm Beach County.

Wendy Corso-Ruud, pbccPTA President – “We know all the PTA units in Palm Beach County offer a wide variety of excellent programs to their members and work hard for their schools covering Advocacy, Wellness, Family Engagement and Arts in Education. The Council is excited to continue helping our units implement the Health & Wellness program of their choice.”

Sandy Gast, pbccPTA Scholarship & Grant Chair - “We are excited to offer these 5 new wellness grants to these hard-working units…and remember our Scholarship & Grant program also supports leadership grants for PTA Leaders to attend conferences and conventions and provides scholarships to both high school seniors and adult volunteers.”

Kay M. Stagray, pbccPTA Wellness Chair - “WOW, our local units sure know how to bring an exciting variety of wellness programs to their members and local communities. It remains a privilege to continue being a part of a program that has funded over 30 wide ranging programs and projects including Gardens, Field Day equipment, Step Dance Team, and Self Confidence Workshops."

This school year the council is awarding an additional $3,000 in grants to 5 local PTAs throughout Palm Beach County. Each PTA will utilize the funds to offset a Wellness program at their school. This year our judges selected a Health Wellness & Safety Fair, a Step Dance Team and 3 outdoor, green-themed programs. The green theme programs are designed to bring the community in, rebuild campus beauty destroyed by Hurricane Irma, improve & create more outdoor classrooms and start a Farm to Table program.
