Searching for a PTO President for the Next School Year!!
The PTO Board is still searching for a volunteer to be the PTO President for the 2020-21 school year. Unfortunately, we have not had any interest or inquiries about volunteering for this vital role.

This is an CRITICAL VOLUNTEER NEED because without the leadership of a PTO President for the 2020-21 school year, we WILL NOT be able to have a PTO.  Without a PTO Rea View would not have family fun events, volunteer coordination, room parents, fundraisers, staff appreciation events, book fairs, community service activities, classroom enhancements, school improvements, playground improvements, birthday books, student agendas, spirit wear, student educational magazines (such as Scholastic), other instructional material funding beyond what the school system provides, and much, much more.

Even though the President is the leader of the PTO, please keep in mind this DOES NOT MEAN that the President is in charge of or responsible everything the PTO does. The President does not need to attend every event, committee meeting, or activity; nor does the President do all the work that falls through the cracks. The responsibilities of Rea View's PTO President include...
  1. Facilitating two PTO Board Meetings a month during the school year to discuss PTO business
  2. Communicating with and supporting the PTO Executive Board Members (who are the lisasons for the PTO's committees)
  3. Coordinating with the webmasters, social media managers, and the school's principal to ensure the PTO is communicating effectively with parents and teachers.
  4. Working with the Volunteer Coordinator to find volunteers for the school and PTO.
  5. Collaborating with the school administrators to ensure the PTO is supporting the school in a beneficial manner
  6. Leading (with support from the PTO Board) any General PTO Meetings to inform PTO members periodically of PTO business
Next year's President will have a strong PTO Board with most of the current board members returning to support the President, and there will also be many returning committee chairs who already know their roles and responsibilities.

Our current PTO President, Ashley Maggio, was recently asked what were the biggest benefits to being the President, and her response was...

"First and foremost, the close relationships I have developed with the school's principal, assistant principal, office staff, teachers, and other parents has been the biggest benefit to being the PTO President. It is also a huge perk to get the inside scoop on what is happening at Rea View. It really has been nice to be 'in the know.' Finally, I feel that being the PTO President at Rea View has benefited my children, and I have been a positive role model for them. My kids have developed a sense of pride and relish the fact that I am an active and important participant at Rea View."

If you are considering taking on this impactful volunteer role, please do not feel you have to commit right away.  If you are not ready to take the leap at this moment to become the PTO President but want to learn more, take some time now to email us at reaviewvolunteers@gmail.com, talk with our current President, and join us at our PTO Board Meetings to get a better feel for the role before making your decision. There is no obligation or commitment required for taking time to learning more about valued role! The possibility for Co-Presidents can also be considered, so if you have a friend who would be willing to work with you, please contemplate that option as well.
