Box Tops from certain products give "free" money to the school. Parents can help support Windermere by sending in box tops from participating products. There is an in-school competition with prizes for the students and class that collect the most box tops.
Winter Box Top collection runs from January 17, 2017 through February 10, 2017. Please trim the box tops and glue, staple, or tape them to the Collection Sheet below. (collection sheets will also come home in Friday folders Jan 20.), or send a baggie or envelope in with your child’s name, grade, and teacher’s name. The Windermere PTO is once again sponsoring a night of roller skating at Ron A Roll in Vernon. This event is
open to 5th and 6th grade Ellington students ONLY.
The cost will be $9.50 per student.
Print your registration flyer from here or watch for a flyer in your child's Friday folder. Fill it out and send it back to school with your child or Sign up below by making your payment on line. Registration closes on January 20th. No walk ins on the day of the event.
All students in grades K – 6 are encouraged to participate in Windermere’s Winter Reading Challenge!
The challenge will run from Wednesday February 1st to February 28.
Students who complete 3 hours of recreational reading during the month of February will receive a bookmark, and those students who complete all 6 hours will also earn one $5 certificate toward any book at the Spring Book Fair, which will be held from March 20th through March 24th.
The top three K-6 classrooms with the highest participation percentage will each receive a $50.00 certificate to the Spring Book Fair to enhance their classroom libraries.
Reading logs will be distributed to classrooms on January 30th. It can also be downloaded from here.

A big thank you to all the families that donated items for the Seasonal Sharing project that we did in December.
Anna Turner, the Ellington Human Services Outreach Social Worker sent us a nice note thanking the Windermere students and faculty for the gifts and donations.
In her note she said "The Ellington senior citizens who received the items were so happy and delighted to be remembered by the children. "
