Welcome Our New Assistant Principal

Dr. Ashley Roby is excited to join our Eakin community as Assistant Principal. She has been a part of Metro Nashville Public Schools since beginning her education as a student, graduating from Hunters Lane High School. She has over 15 years experience as a teacher, coach and school leader in Metro Schools. She most recently served as the Dean of Instruction at Sylvan Park Paideia Design Center where she focused on enhancing instructional practices and building teacher capacity. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University, a Master’s degree from Tennessee State University in Educational Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-8), also from Tennessee State University. Along with her love of education, she loves watching movies, dancing, reading, and spending time with her family which includes her husband Bryan and three children, Alayna, Amari, and Justice.

New Dress Code for 2018-19 School Year

Principal Hartfelder and the PTO are excited to announce a big change in our school dress code. Students will be allowed to wear Eakin t-shirts any day of the week starting this school year (not just Fridays!). Approved Eakin wear includes t-shirts sold by the PTO, class shirts, and shirts from sanctioned clubs. Shirts can be purchased online at this link. Parents are encouraged to donate gently used Eakin wear to the exchange program to help all students take advantage of this new dress code. Solid color shirts with collars will still be allowed. The dress code for bottoms will remain the same (khaki, black or navy, no denim).

First Day of School

The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018. It is a half day for Pre-K and Kindergarten and a full day for all other grades. View the full MNPS calendar for the 2018-19 school year.
