Hello! Welcome (or welcome back) to LDC for the 2018-2019 school year!
By now, many of you have probably noticed how busy the library gets every morning at Lockeland. The kids are so excited to read, and Ms. D keeps a steady flow of new books coming in to spark interest in even the most reluctant readers. Our library has one of the highest circulation rates in the district!
To keep the library running smoothly, volunteers are essential. Our school is too small to have a budgeted library clerk position, which means Ms. DeFrancisco not only teaches classes to each and every student each week, but she is also responsible for all check in, check out, shelving, assisting students in finding books and planning the wonderful reading events our school has throughout the year. She can't do it all alone!
If each volunteer could commit to one morning per week, Ms. D would have the support she needs to serve the students to the high level of excellence we've come to expect throughout the years. We can't do it without you!
No experience necessary, just sign up for a slot and show up! We can show you how to do the rest. You can sign up here --> https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090b44afad29a13-septemberoctober
Questions? Email angelfunk@mac.com or Tanner.Defrancisco@mnps.org. Thank you!
If you are unable to come in to help due to work schedules or other conflicts, we are always in need of treasure box items: pencils, erasers, small notebooks, puzzle books, small toys, etc.
