The PTA is collecting funds to provide a holiday gift to each of KSE's 150+ teachers and staff.  Click here to contribute to the fund.

Contributions will be accepted between November 6 to December 6th. We will hold a second collection in the spring, for an end of the year gift.


Here are answers to common questions about this fund!

1.  Is there a link to contribute?

Again this year, instead of room parents collecting money for holiday and end of year gifts for their home room teachers, the PTA will facilitate a school-wide gift fund. The school-wide gift fund will benefit ALL of KSE's teachers and staff. With this program, we will be able to recognize all of the wonderful people who work at our school.  

In November & early December, families will be able to contribute to the holiday gift fund. In the spring, families will be able to contribute to the end of year gift fund.

The school-wide gift fund will replace the room parent collections for their teacher's holiday and end of year gift.

There will be two different funds -- one in November/December, for the holiday season, and one in the spring, for the end of the year.

4. Is there a donation goal per event? If so, what is the goal for each event? 

Each family is encouraged to donate what feels right for the occasion. The amount of the gifts will be determined by the amount of funds collected.  We will take the amount collected and divide by it the number of full time and part time staff. For example, full time employees may receive $30 while part time employees receive $15.

5. Is it possible to have a goal and show an up to date amount donated, periodically, so all know how far to go. This would be similar to the Foundation does with Support the Pride. 

We will do our best to update on the funds collected and will definitely let everyone know the final gift amounts once they are calculated.

6. Is there a committee chair or someone to direct future questions?

7. Will room parents still do class gifts? 

This school-wide gift fund is meant to replace most money collections by room parents.  So, room parents should not ask families to also contribute for a class gift except for the teacher’s birthday or other special occasion (wedding or baby shower, etc.). Doing so goes against what we are trying to achieve with the gift fund. We want to recognize everyone at KSE that contributes to our children's education and experience. We also want to make things simpler for our families.
