Hello Lockeland Families,
I’m super excited to announce the 1st annual LDC Stripes and Strides 5k and 1 Mile run on November, 23 2019 at 9am! This event has been specifically designed for our kids to test their running abilities (and personal growth) in an encouraging setting. The event is open to all current Lockeland students and it’s FREE! We’ll be running at the beautiful Cornelia Fort Airpark. No specific running experience necessary, just a willingness to find fun in new challenges.

Some quick facts:
- We’re going to run rain or shine. So bring a rain jacket (for yourself and kids) and a change of clothes for your kids. FYI, the 5k course might be altered if we have a heavy rain.
- This is a kids running event, we’d love for adults to cheer and volunteer but ask that you let your kids do their running independently.
- Drinks and snacks will be provided at the finish line for the runners (compliments of EastNashvilleChiro.com). Plus, we’ll have water stations during the run.
- Changes to your kids registration (5k switched to/from 1 mile) can be made morning of the run at the registration table. You can also signup your kids that morning, we’ll have paper registration forms ready.
- We suggest your write your cell phone number on the back of your kids bib number. For those who register by Thursday, you’re kids bib number will come home with them Friday.
- No SSA on Monday for any students who finish the run! They should wear their finisher wrist band to school.
