If you are wondering why you should volunteer, here are our top 10 Reasons for volunteering with Rea View's PTO...
1. Your child benefits. Research shows children whose parents are involved in their school get better grades, do better on tests and have fewer discipline problems at school.2. We make a difference. Our mission is to create the kind of school community where teachers and administrators can do their best work – and so can our children. We provide the support and resources they need to accomplish this.3. Meet people who are working towards a common goal…the children of Rea View.
We all have a common bond. We care about creating the best possible educational experience for our children. To us, there are no “outsiders.” We couldn’t be happier to have you join us..4. There’s a lot to be done. These days, schools are asked to do more with less. Our help is needed more than ever to fill the gaps. We need you!5. We can match jobs to your interests and abilities and, most importantly, your time constraints. People are often reluctant to participate because they’re afraid they’ll get pulled into a never ending time commitment. That won’t happen here. The work we do covers a broad spectrum. Some jobs take minutes, some hours, some are bigger events. thrilled to have people take on tasks that meet their skills and interest, as little or as often as they’d like.6. We have fun. We accomplish a lot and not everything we do is easy. But we know we’re not balancing the national debt, either. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, and we try to enjoy ourselves along the way whenever possible.7. Be a role model. You are your children’s most important role model. Showing your children you value their education will teach them to value it as well.8. Meet teachers, staff and administrators. You’ll get to know the teachers at the school and understand their needs and ideas. It’s also one more way to meet and talk with the school’s principal.9. We’re about parent involvement, not fundraising. In these times of tight budgets, parents groups everywhere are having to fill in the gaps, and so are we. But our number one goal is to get more parents connected to the school.10. The work is very rewarding. Seeing the bright light of learning sparkle in a child’s eye. The smile that shows we’re making school a little more fun. There are lots of rewards, both big and small, for those that get involved.
