Run for the Ridge Registration Fee Increases on March 18

There will be an increase on the race's registration fee starting on Wednesday, March 18th, so be sure to register ASAP!!
The 9th annual Run for the Ridge 5K and Mini Mav Fun Run is a family friendly event that is happening soon on SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 2020 at 8am! The Run for the Ridge serves as a fundraiser for Rea View and all of the Marvin cluster schools!a Since the inaugural race in 2012, this event has raised over $90,000 for our schools!
The race has something for everyone! We have so much fun cheering on entire Rea View families, parent/child running teams, and Rea View staff in the 5K. Also, our Red Wolf students really love running in the Mini Mav race. In fact, last year several Rea View students participated in the one mile Mini Mav, and won top prizes including 1st and 2nd places! Plus, little ones enjoy the post-race festivities. And don't forget, Rea View's own Rocky will be participating in the Mascot Dash.
**NEW** The PTO has a Rea View CARE Team for the Run for the Ridge Race!! As part of the mission of CARE, we want to provide opportunities for our children to serve, and be a part of community building activities. We believe this will help them feel more connected and involved, while helping to make our community stronger! To join the CARE team when signing up for the race, click on the link to register, and be sure to click on the part "Yes, add this registrant to a team created by someone else." Our team name is "Rea View CARE Team." At the race will have a red Rea View tent set up with a CARE team sign for us to gather at before and after the race. Wear your Rea View spirit wear! If you register for the race already, you can still join the CARE Team. Go to www.runfortheridge.com, and then the Contact tab to send a message to the race director that you would like to join Rea View's CARE team.
**Also, New** Rea View Students, would you like to experience a day in the life of a principal, specifically your principal Mrs. Parker? You will be responsible for greeting students and teachers in the morning, going on RVTV for announcements, sitting in meetings, visiting classrooms and helping with paperwork. A principal for a day drawing will be held for all students who register for Run for the Ridge Fun Run or 5K by Monday March 23rd. A name will be drawn on RVTV Monday afternoon. Are you ready to fill Mrs. Parker's shoes? Then, sign up and help us have a strong turnout on March 28th!
The school with the most registered runners gets their name on the Run for the Ridge plaque. Rea View won the plaque the first three years of the race, but has not won it in since. As of Tuesday (2/25), Rea View was slightly ahead of Marvin Ridge Middle School in the number of registrants, so let see if we can stay in first place!!Finally, if you and your family are not able to participate, parents can register as a Parent Sponsor and give a donation of $10 to the Marvin Schools. The school with the most Parent Sponsors will be recognized on Race Day.
Rocky can't wait to see you on the USATF certified course, the MiniMav Fun Run, the Mascot dash, and at the post-race festivities on March 28th! GO TEAM REA VIEW!!!
