Destination Imagination - For Grades 1st - 5th

Las Palmas Destination Imagination is a 100% parent-led program.  Parent volunteers are needed, to be team managers for the 2018 -19 school year.  Please read the information below and review the DI website, if you are interested in helping bring this program to our students.

Here is a brief description of the program. Destination Imagination is a creative problem solving program for all learners.  Teams of five-seven students are asked to solve unique challenges with no adult assistance.  The challenge offers students opportunities to explore engineering, architecture, drama, and improvisation.  The program fosters creative problem solving, teaches teamwork, rewards divergent thinking, employs time management, promotes risk taking, and encourages experimentation.

Please consider being a team manager if you enjoy helping children learn about creativity, teamwork and problem solving.  The time commitment is once a week for about sixteen weeks depending on the complexity of the solution the student team has created for the challenge.  Team managers can work in pairs to manage the time commitment.  Training is offered on line for team managers.
