Yearbook Help Needed

We always need people to help take pictures during class parties, field trips, recess, and at other school events. If you have taken pictures, please send them to Yearbook@HolaLasPalmas.org Your help is greatly appreciated!

Our 2022 - 2023 Yearbook theme has been decided and we need your help catching your Pipers in action!

YEARBOOK NEEDS VOLUNTEERS:

This is an unprecedented time in our history and recording the experience for ourselves and children is important. We can do this TOGETHER!! Our PIPERS need YOU to volunteer. The software is very user friendly, our vendor has excellent technical support, if you can post on Facebook you can easily volunteer for the yearbook team. If you work have limited time this is an excellent option and we need you! ABOUT VOLUNTEERING: The yearbook leadership will take care of page development and will provide information tools for communicating with your classrooms. We have really exciting news, THE vital component to a successful yearbook is the photos and OUR VENDOR is developing an app that will allow students, teachers, staff, parents the ability to upload photos directly to the yearbook. The time commitment is very manageable, you can volunteer anytime through out the day 24/7, the FINAL completion deadline will be February 2023.

This is a monthly commitment for a couple hours if that (seriously), starting in October.
Primary responsibility is to remind your teachers, parents, grade level community to upload photos and then fill your grades yearbook pages with those photos (You’ll be responsible for proofing your pages, duplicate photos, faces cut off, effort to ensure all students are represented, etc.).

If after you see how easy and FUN it can be, we are happy to expand on your contributions such as the event pages (Meet the Masters, Holiday pages, and TBD ).

Guidelines:

Step 1: Volunteer Sign-In

Each time you visit the school check in at the office and get a volunteer badge / sticker to wear.
Check with your teacher to see if it is OK for you to come and take pictures on a certain day. They may be busy and that is OK, you don't have to take pictures of every event.

Step 2: Take pictures or ask other classroom volunteers if they are able to take pictures on these certain days:

Spirit Days when kids dress up for different theme to show school spirit.
Class parties & Field Trips
Jog-a-thon
School events such as Red Ribbon Week, Veterans' Day
3 or more kids in a picture is preferred, more is always better!

Step 3: Select pictures for the yearbook class page

In focus
Be able to see a majority of the kids faces in the pictures (vs. Back of Heads)
Ask the teacher and other parents for pictures

Step 4: Yearbook Submission:

The rest can be groups of kids. Groups of kids would be best.
Try to have every kid in at least 2 or 3 pictures
Submit 15-20 pictures for your class page 8 to 15 will be used for the class page
Please also send all extra pictures of spirit days, school events, and jog-a-thon, to be used on those event pages of the yearbook
